Direct Energy Announces Newest Price Plans to Give Customers More Control of Their Energy Bill Houston, TX (October 17, 2012) - Direct Energy is kicking off autumn with three new, innovative price plans that give customers additional choice on their energy plan, usage and electric bills.

The offering includes:

The Two Free Months, 24-Month Plan consists of a fixed rate for two years and two free months of electricity during the month of April in 2013 and 2014. This is valued at a total of up to $600 in savings.

The other plans, Free Power Saturdays and the Fixed Six Months, are for customers interested in a prepaid option, which doesn't require a deposit, credit check or contract. Prepaid customers must have a smart meter and will be alerted by text or email messages of their usage.*

"As a prepaid customer, Free Power Saturdays not only allows you the freedom of paying what you want and in advance, it could also be of benefit to customers interested in saving money for the upcoming holiday shopping season," Comstock said.

Free Power Saturdays is a month-to-month plan priced at a variable rate with no contract. Direct Energy is the only electricity retail provider that offers Free Saturdays with no charges all day. Other free Saturdays plans in the market charge taxes and other fees.

For customers most comfortable with a fixed rate, the Fixed Six Months Plan has a price that will not change for six months. It is the only prepaid plan that offers a fixed priced. Also, customers will receive a $30 bill credit after 30 days of active enrollment.
