A carbon offset is a greenhouse gas emissions reduction or removal that compensates for—or offsets—emissions from other activities. Direct Energy Business purchases and retires verified carbon emission credits to make your natural gas consumption "carbon neutral". As part of this program, you will automatically receive 5% Carbon Neutral Natural Gas and you have the option to convert more of your contracted natural gas volume to Carbon Neutral Natural Gas.
